Need some suggestions. I bought one of these for my Yamaha Raider. History. I have the CD integrated brake tail light kit. Installed and everything works fine. The bike has self canceling signal feature and it works. I have self cancel signals. The turn signal relay on the bike has a line wired into the bikes VSS signal to determine distance and shut off the self cancel signals. I install a Rostra electronic cruise control. One of the wires from the cruise ties into the brake circuit using the brake as a shut off. One more from the cruise ties into the VSS signal to obtain speed. Once these two wires were connected to the cruise, the self canceling signals stopped working. I was told it was due to the brake shutoff and a signal stabilizer would solve that problem. Installed signal stabilizer, Self cancel still not working. Troubleshooting the system, it was determined that the self cancels were not working due to the VSS signal tap from the cruise control. Determined by cutting the connection of the cc vss wire and self cancel works again. Questions: Why wont the signal stabilizer fix the self cancel feature? Is it only looking at the flash rate of the brake and turn signals? If it can adjust the signal flash rate in a turn, shouldn't it also be able to compensate for the self cancel feature? If not, is there any other product that can correct the self cancel operation without spending another $60+? Thanks in advance. ~chilly |

I talked with our lead tech on this and got you a few answers: Why won’t the signal stabilizer fix the self cancel feature? Because the Signal Stabilizer only puts a momentary load on the turn signal wires, it has nothing to do with the self cancel feature. Is it only looking at the flash rate of the brake and turn signals? It is only a load. If it can adjust the signal flash rate in a turn, shouldn't it also be able to compensate for the self cancel feature? No If not, is there any other product that can correct the self cancel operation without spending another $60+? I would suggest putting a diode in line with the VSS wire, sounds like a feedback problem. |

Thanks for looking into this and getting some feedback. I had already added a diode to the VSS line and resolved the issues with self cancel. I appreciate the confirmation since I have not gotten any feedback from the cruise manufacturer as of yet. Everything seems to be functioning properly. ~chilly |
