The benefit of the Plastic Grommet is that it protects the wires from getting cut/sliced/severed by the steel or aluminum edges from the wire holes. (We recommend a 1/2” hole cut for installation.) Most competitive sidemarker lights have a flat bottom to their designs, so their wires could be compromised, (from vibration rubbing the wires against the metal), as the trailer travels on unpaved roads. |
