In the case of adding the 2014-2024 Ultra style Tour-Pak® with OEM lighting to your motorcycle, Custom Dynamics® manufactures a series of hybrid Tour-Pak® quick disconnects to plug into the main wire harness of the motorcycle and mate with this Power Harness and provide easy connections for powering the rear Tour-Pak® light and lower side arms.
Plug and play wiring harness provides connections to OEM 5-pin Tour-Pak® lighting assembly, side arm Tour-Pak® marker lights and charging port found on factory 2014-2023 Harley-Davidson Tour-Pak®. Can also be used to add Custom Dynamics® ProBEAM® LED Run/Brake/Turn Lamp (sold separately). Harness mates with Custom Dynamics® Quick Disconnect Harnesses CD-TP-QD-14, CD-TP-QD-SS614 or CD-TP-QD-HD14 (sold separately) providing an accessible connection for easy removal of the Tour-Pak®.

Works perfectly

This is plug and play. Made it really easy. I like that it has the power for additional lights and accessories. I wasn’t thinking about adding those lights but I am now because it will be so easy. I plan on adding a sub charger for the accessory, when I have saved up enough $ to buy it.

Better than OEM!

I used this on a 2023 Street Glide for the Tour-Pak lighting. I was told by the dealership that HD does NOT make a harness for the Street Glide and that I would have to make a harness, as that is what they do on any customer’s Street Glide when a Tour-Pak is added. While researching lighting options, it occurred to me that if Custom Dynamics’ lights were all compatible with OEM harnesses, then CD’s harnesses must be compatible OEM lights. I was right!
When used in conjunction with the CD quick disconnect harness (CD-TP-QD-14), you can tap into the vehicle harness under the seat and run all of your Tour-Pak lights, whether they are CD lights or HD lights. If you are running the HD side marker lamps on the Tour-Pak, this harness will interface with the OEM pigtails and you can discard the factory jumper harness that comes with them. The five-pin connector mates up with the OEM Run/Turn/Brake lighting assembly.
While I really think this harness is great, I have a few minor critiques (or suggestions) for the folks at Custom Dynamics who have all been very helpful with my many question:.
1) This harness comes fully assembled. That means that unless you want to drill a big gaping hole in your Tour-Pak to get the six-pin Molex connector through, you need to disassemble and de-pin the connector, pass the wires through, and then reassemble the connector. It isn’t rocket science, but it would be easier to just install the harness and then add the connector rather than disassembling it. Not a huge deal, but just a thought.
P.S. – Before you disassemble the connector, take a picture of the wiring layout or jot down which wires go where – there is no schematic!
2) It would be marvelous if Custom Dynamics included a rubber grommet for where you drill a hole and pass the harness through your Tour-Pak. Most readily-available grommets won’t work due to the thickness of the Tour-Pak wall (approx. 5mm / .2”). I did find some that work perfectly here - MECCANIXITY 4Pcs Snap Rubber Grommet Plug Mount Dia 11.5mm ID 8.5mm Seal Anti-Scratch for Electrical Box Cable Pipe Black: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific . They are very snug on the harness, they are deep enough for the Tour-Pak thickness, and they only require drilling a ½” hole!
Despite my two critiques, I’m still going with five stars – this harness is great! While I possess the knowledge and ability to fabricate a harness, why do that when this is readily available? Get yours today and save yourself a little aggravation. Custom Dynamics rocks!
